Responsible towards the Client for managing all technical design and architecture aspects from presales engagements to Proof of Concept projects delivery, software and technology demonstration, customer requirement analysis and specification definition and documentation, technical feasibility study, project planning and resource assessment.
Able to argument the benefit of the Cloud solution compared to other competitors; emphasis the key differentiator of the Cloud technology compared to other technology on the market, and presents the engineering & product development roadmap. For this later, the Technical Manager will support the Product and Engineering team to provide them with key market trend inputs based on Customer requirement and competitor’s comparison.
The Technical Manager will support market push of new Cloud technology and innovation and in particular should be a great evangelist of Node.js, the selected Cloud PaaS solution.
The role reports directly to the sales director in the corresponding region.
Essential duties and responsibilities
The Technical Manager primarily actions will be:
To serve as a technical lead and expert representative in his region.
To support sales and presales engagement to perform presentation and demonstration, and provide technical answers to partners/customers.
To provide and perform technical deep dive presentation of the Cloud Technology and Key Technology benefits and differentiators.
To suggest alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements when necessary.
To provide pre-sales engagements leadership, develop technical proposals, support training and knowledge transfer execution.
To provide technical consultancy in support of Sales Process.
To support delivery and project management of Customer Proof-of Concept by making the
link between the Partners/ Customers and the Cloud Service Delivery and Operations organization.
To provide application architecture and migration scenarios technical advice to partners/customers.
To take technical ownership and leadership to answer to Client RFI/RFP in creating and managing response teams involving all necessary life cycle resources.
To facilitate, escalate, notify Client requests for modifications and enhancements to Cloud products and services that meet the Customers’ expectations while keeping these requests in line with Product and Business Strategy.
To facilitate, develop and produce high quality of service to be delivered by Cloud Vendor from a presales and engagement process stand point.
By achieving this previous action, the Technical Manager will propose, institute or augment the necessary procedures & tools and staff supporting the client in an effort to provide optimum Customer service and minimize risk of failure and delay.
Skills Required:
5+ years Experience at IT/Telco/ISV/Hardware Vendor/Hosting.
General market landscape of the Cloud Technologies.
Virtualization techniques and pitfalls.
Internet networking.
HTTP & the Web.
Unix & derivatives. Specifically, Solaris & Linux.
Node.js knowledge is a plus.
Capable of working in a project-based environment.
Understanding of economic benefits to product line.
Understanding of customers strategies and map them with Cloud offering.
Ability to drive C-level meetings.
Ability to act as “trusted advisor” to partners/customers for decision making.
Reporting to the Sales Director Regions.
Able to understand the Hosting/Cloudservices/Managed Services Markets and Business Model.
Able to regularly travel across all Middle East and Africa.
Languages: Minimum English and Arabic preferred.
Excellent executive communication skills.
Knowledge of MSOffice, Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and access suite.
The Senior Consultant will be primarily responsible for designing and implementing solutions around Oracle/Sun, Netapp and Symantec storage products. Secondary responsibilities will include break/fix support for HDS, NetApp and Symantec products across the region.
Required Experience and Skills
Minimum 5 years of Oracle/Sun Hardware and Software experience.
Minimum 5 years of Solaris experience.
Minimum 5 years of Symantec Netbackup experience.
2 years of disk and tape storage experience
2 years experience of NetApp storage.
Experienced in designing Oracle cluster solutions.
Basic SAN knowledge is required.
Familiarity with High end storage from HDS, EMC or IBM.
Familiarity with Symantec Enterprise Vault and Veritas Volume Replicator.
