- Project Description
|
 |
The objective of the proposal is "to provide
JDEdwards EnterpriseOne ERP and to provide implementation services needed to
automate the operations and supportive functions of the company's main offices
at the company's HQ in Jeddah" in addition to the outside local and
international projects and branches.
The goals was to consolidated storage capacity, improved data access, faster
backup recovery and archive security flexible allocation of storage, and
implement disaster recovery in three sites, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, and Senegal.
Three Dell PE6850 quad processors diskless servers connected to a NetApp
FAS3040 SAN Storage with two disk enclosures via a pair of Brocade SAN
switches, to be configured for SAN Booting and installation of SQL and ERP
software packages in a clustered environment.
|
| |
- Customer Challenges
|
 |
Manageability and Serviceability:
The SAN Storage should be easily accessible for configuration, management and troubleshooting within the perimeter network without need of additional appliance as in the case of other Storage vendors, in order to keep a check on the total cost of ownership without compromising on its performance.
Space Utilization and Fault Tolerance:
None or a minimum number of disks to be used by the SAN Controlling units as the referred disk space would be rendered unusable for normal storage as in the case of other storage vendors. Also high data availability should be maintained in case of disk failures with minimum or none effect on the performance.
Backup:
Backup of EPR SQL databases should be completed within a reduced time frame without impacting mission critical applications during normal business hours.
|
| |
- Customer Experience:
|
 |
"We chose Network Appliance as a storage vendor
for our mission-critical business solutions because NetApp products deliver
high availability with solid, consistent performance and a much lower total
cost of ownership. NetApp has reduced the overhead necessary.
