General Summary
To provide all neccessary technical/product information and resources to enable the internal Symantec team and our Symantec channel to increase their knowledge on latest Symantec Availability & Enterprise Security products and technologies. This person will take responsibility of reviewing all BOQ’s and presenting Symantec technologies to resellers and end-customers to maximise Symantec’s evangelism in a professional, efficient and profitable manner in line with Tech Access and Symantec strategies. He/She will agree, implement and manage all prodcut technology related aspects with our channel partners, end-users and local Symantec team to support our Sales team in achieving/exceeding agreed revenue targets in line with the Annual Operating Plans. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide Technical Pre-sales support and assist the Business Development Manager and regional Sales Teams in achieving/exceeding targets & objectives.
- Provide latest information to our internal sales teams and channel partners on product development, technical specifications, product changes, promotions and programs to maximize all opportunities.
- Develop, implement and manage approved pricing strategies in conjunction with the Business Development Manager while building BOQ’s
- Ability to be able to deep dive in specific High Availability, Data Protection, and Enterprise Security products
Develop and deliver regular knowledge transfer sessions to internal and external customers.
- Assist the Marketing team in preparing technical marketing, technical newsletter or web content in line with Tech Access and Symantec’s agreed business objectives.
- Have a feel for solving customer related issues whether logistical, technical, and information delivery.
- Maintain highest levels of service both externally and internally in a timely manner.
- To make sure that all product information is made available to enable sales teams to be fully conversant with the product range.
- To be supportive and motivated in oneself at all times
- During the qualifying process, confirm that Symantec's products meet the prospect's requirements and assist the Sales team in technical qualifications.
- Provide Pre-sales support such as:
- Assisting in selling complex solutions.
- Addressing key accounts which require special attention.
- Delivering product training for customers, partners and internal Pre-sales staff.
- Articulate and demonstrate Symantec solutions, and position products relative to competition.
- Manage and implement technical evaluations of products.
- Mentor junior Symantec Presales Engineers within the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position requires travel throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required for this position.
- Knowledge of Microsoft and/or at least one UNIX operating system (Solaris, AIX, HPUX, LINUX) and experience of one or more of the following:
- Enterprise Security & Availability solutions and issues including Data Protection and Disaster Recovery solutions
- Experience of complementary solutions and adjacent technologies
- Ability to navigate and manage technical issues within an account with ability to map technical and commercial value to broader business concerns/goals within the engagement
- In-depth working knowledge of Symantec Enterprise Security and Availability products will be advantageous
- Understanding of systems and data availability and security architectures
- IT automation

Minimum Educational / Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated, energetic and positive self-starter.
- Able to effectively interact with co-workers in a variety of roles and responsibilities.
Additional Education / Previous Experience Recommendations
- 5+ years experience in systems administration, pre-sales or related field.
- Background in post-sales consulting or support strongly desired as a secondary skill set.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Operating System (knowledge in other operating systems or working toward attaining knowledge of the other Operating Systems a plus).
- Strong presentation skills a must. Presentation in front of all audiences sizes and types (small, large, technical as well as non-technical in some cases)
- Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor.
