General Summary
To provide all neccessary technical/product information and resources to enable the internal NetApp team and our NetApp channel to increase their knowledge on latest NetApp products and technologies. This person will take the responsibility of of reviewing all BOQ’s and presenting NetApp technologies to our Netapp channel partners and end-customers to maximise NetApp’s evangelism in a professional, efficient and profitable manner in line with Tech Access and NetApp strategies. He/She will agree, implement and manage technology aspects of interactions with the resellers, end-users and NetApp to support the Sales team in achieving/exceeding agreed revenue targets in line with the Annual Operating Plan. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Business Development Manager and regional Sales Teams in achieving/exceeding targets & objectives.
- Provide latest information for the resellers and our internal sales teams on product development, technical specifications, product changes, promotions and programs to maximize all opportunities.
- Develop, implement and manage approved pricing strategies in conjunction with the Business Development Manager while building BOQ’s
- Ability to be able to deep dive in specific storage and data management products to advanced POC level
Ability to articulate the data management strategy and technology direction
-Ability to provide high level presentation of storage and data management products and solutions
- Help build, maintain and optimize the Proof of Concept Center to showcase NetApp’s product features
- Analyze and recommend all available data (i.e. market share, customer segments, NETSUITE reports etc.) to maximize opportunities in line with the market and competition.
- Develop and deliver regular knowledge transfer sessions to internal and external customers.
- Develop and assist marketing in building technical marketing, technical newsletter or web content in line with TA and vendor agreed business objectives.
- Have a feel for solving customer related issues whether logistical, technical, and information delivery.
- Maintain highest levels of service both externally and internally in a timely manner.
- To make sure that all product information is made available to enable sales teams to be fully conversant with the product range.
- To be supportive and motivated in oneself at all times

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- To provide in-depth technical knowledge and support to the sales cycle, enabling end-user customers, channel and industry partners in the deployment of products.
- To proactively educate and develop the pre-sales community within the relevant technology area
- To be a acknowledged “Domain Expert” in the Storage and Data Management domain
- Make agreed contribution to proactive call stats.
- Use own initiative at all times.
- Development and delivery of all product related services, vendor programs and promotions both internally and externally.
- Management, maintenance and delivery of all product related media, ie; monthly newsletters, mailshots on a regular basis and within agreed timeframes.
- Assisting sales teams in identifying and closing all business opportunities.
- Pricelist/Margin management including regular maintenance and market intelligence
- Monitor and act on all product related updates from vendor ensuring up to the minute information to be relayed to both internal and external customers.
- Attend all meetings related to the unit and company with relevant contributions.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
- A detailed understanding and working knowledge of the following in an Enterprise deployment
- NetApp or competitive Product Storage Positioning
- Data Security
- Storage Management
- Data Protection and Disaster Recovery
- In addition to the above it would prove extremely useful, but not mandatory, to have:
- In-depth knowledge of Management and File Protocols SMTP/CIFS/NFS/FCP/ISCSI
- In-depth knowledge of MS Exchange or Domino
- Knowledge of Networking (VLans, Routing, traffic shaping)
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and DNS
- Knowledge of SAN Components and configuration
- The ability to withstand pressures of ever changing / fast moving environments.
- Clear demonstration to use own initiative.
- Mature, responsible and professional attitude.
- Good time management skills.
- Experience within the defined market.
- Training and good presentation skills
- Experience in planning and execution

Minimum Educational / Experience Requirements
- Technical qualifications in line with the demands of the position.
- MCSE / NetApp Certification will be an added advantage

Additional Education / Previous Experience Recommendations
5+ years experience in storage, pre-sales or related field.

Background in pre or post-sales consulting or support strongly desired as a secondary skill set.

To have proven product management achievements/knowledge of storage technologies – preferably NetApp or other large storage vendors.

To have experience of working within a team.

To have experience in dealing with customers over the telephone and in person.
