General Summary
The Pre-Sales Consultant's primary responsibility is to provide the pre-sales technical assistance necessary to achieve or exceed the assigned quota. This is a field position, based in Dubai, but will be required to travel extensively through the MENA/Pakistan region. The Pre-Sales consultant works cooperatively in a team effort with the Business Development Manager for MENA region and the various Partner Sales Managers (PSMs )located within the region to identify key customers, strategic partners and resellers, as well as assisting in planning sales strategy.
Essential Functions
The Pre-Sales Consultant is responsible for presenting and providing the technical information necessary for end-users, strategic partners and resellers to implement Altiris solutions. The BDM and PSMs are responsible for the overall management of these accounts through the Partner community, while the Pre-Sales Consultant provides the technical account management required.
In collaboration with the Altiris Resellers and Systems Integrators, this person will be responsible for the presentation of technical and strategic information regarding all Altiris products to all buying influences in any organization: engineers/technical, buyers, CIOs, department heads. The Pre-Sales Consultant effectively and proficiently describes functionality, provides details as to product features, demonstrates, installs and answers technical questions about all Altiris products and their interaction to assist in closing business.
The Pre-Sales Consultant has the primary responsibility for the creation and execution of end user, reseller and OEM technical presentations and seminars. This includes, but is not limited to technical seminars and end- user training.
The Pre-Sales Consultant has the primary responsibility for presales technical support within the region. The Pre-Sales Consultant marshals resources from all sources necessary (channel, corporate, support) to ensure successful evaluation and implementation of our products in achieving closing of sales.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years experience in similar position.
Advanced technical knowledge of the networking industry, including but not limited to all Windows OS platforms (XP, NT/2000 server, NT/2000 workstation, 9x), DHCP requirements and specifications, TCP/IP, and NT/2000 server administration.
Network troubleshooting skills with ability to work efficiently through the installation of complex products.
Working knowledge of routers, hubs and switches. Knowledge of network infrastructures in order to facilitate a successful implementation for the customer.
Exemplary presentation skills including the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts visually and orally.
Strong written communication skills and customer service skills.
Highly motivated with excellent work ethic, energy, initiative and a team attitude.
Preferred Skills
Experience with a key OEM or hardware strategic partner.
Ability to install, troubleshoot, and optimize Altiris products. Familiarity with common applications, equipment, and operating systems related to Altiris implementations.
Advanced technical knowledge of Altiris products and Altiris certification.
MCSE or MCNE certifications
